What is Coaching?

​Whatever the type of coaching and for whatever reason it is used, coaching is designed to help you achieve the satisfaction, happiness and success you seek in your personal and/or working life. This may concern any number of specific topics for example:

- Boosting your performance or success in a specific area
- Developing or re-building self confidence
- Determining your future life or career direction
- Developing assertiveness and communication skills
- Enhancing interpersonal and relationship skills
- Understanding yourself better (including your strengths, values and personal style)
- Enhancing your personal presence and impact on others
- Support during periods of change or transition to maintain self-confidence, resilience and motivation
- Returning to work after a long absence

One-to-one coaching is a partnership with a qualified person (the coach) to help you to achieve your goals, help you to realise your potential and become the best "you". It is a form of “non-directive” learning or development.

What are the Benefits?

A skilled coach uses a combination of observation, questioning, listening and feedback to create a conversation rich in insight and learning. If you choose to work with me, you should expect to experience a focus and level of attention that enables you to develop a greater awareness and appreciation of your own circumstances. I will structure our conversations to benefit you in order to facilitate your achievement of your goals and objectives. These conversations can happen in many different ways, using different coaching approaches and styles.

In addition to helping you to achieve you goals, all of my coaching programmes aim to help you to understand yourself better and be able to apply self-coaching skills to future situations and challenges. You will usually also learn new ways to resolve issues, produce better results and generally achieve your goals more easily. These broader outcomes usually include:

- Increased knowledge of self/self-awareness
- Improved ability to relate to and influence others
- Improved sense of direction and focus
- Increased motivation
- Improved personal effectiveness
- Increased resilience and ability to handle change
